Western Conference President

Bonnie Bagley, Colorado Springs, Colorado of District 17, is theNational Board Representative from District 17 and also holds league positions as Trustee of the ACBL Charity Foundation and Co-Chairman of the Aileen Osofsky ACBL Goodwill Committee. In her own district Bonnie has served the D17 board as secretary for the past 11 years. On the national level, Bonnie has co-chaired two of the largest NABCs in the past decade – the huge Las Vegas Summer National in 2008, and the very successful 2009 San Diego Fall NABC. On the Western Conference Board Bonnie has taken over responsibilities of overseeing our three annual Great Western STACs – the three largest sectional tournaments in the world. www.BonnieBagleyD17.com


John Van Ness

John Van Ness, Aspen (Carbondale), Colorado, of District 17, is a past Western Conference president and past president of District 17. John is an attorney in Aspen and served as president of his district for 12 years. John has been recognized as one of our strongest supporters in the Conference due to his loyalty to STACs, the D17 and Western Conference tournaments, and his support of the Contract Bridge Forum. His columns in the D17 ScoreCard edition of the Forum (“A Rocky Mountain Hi!”) can be read online at ContractBridgeForum.com and are insights into understanding our successful regional tournaments, our growing membership, and the Western Conference bridge atmosphere.

District 21

Marion Robertson, San Francisco, California of District 21, is the outgoing WC President having served the two-year term since elected in 2009. During Marion’s tenure on the board and as our president we’ve made great strides in increased attendance at all conference functions - our regionals and our three annual Great Western STACs. The past year has seen record attendances everywhere with record-breaking attendances in all three districts as well as the annual Great Western STACs. Marion, an attorney in the bay area of California, is a former president of District 21, and was a chairman of the very successful 2007 San Francisco Fall North American Bridge Championships.


Bruce Blakely

Bruce W. Blakely, San Rafael, California of District 21, is the National Board Representative for D21. He is a practicing attorney and has been very active in bridge administration. Bruce has been a vice-president and president of the Marin Unit, as well as vice-president and president of District 21, and a member of the D21 Executive Committee for eight years. He is currently the chairman of the ACBL’s CEO Search Committee to find a new leader for our Horn Lake league management in 2012. Bruce was the NABC Tournament Chairman of the very successful Fall 2007 San Francisco North American Bridge Championships, and is a regular contributor to the District 21 edition of  Contract Bridge Forum.

District 22


Ken Monzingo

Ken Monzingo, San Diego, California of District 22, is the District Director and National Board Representative for D22. Ken has been the publisher of Contract Bridge Forum for over thirty years. Nationally, he was chairman of the huge Las Vegas Summer 2008 NABC, and also chairman of the very successful Fall 2009 San Diego NABC. Ken is a lifetime member of the ACBL Goodwill Committee, and was selected as ACBL Volunteer of the Year in 2007. Ken is a D22 regional tournament supervisor, and serves on the ACBL’s tournament committees. Ken is a Platinum Life Master and taught bridge for 20 years professionally, privately and on cruise ships. www.KenMonzingo.com


Teri Atkinson

Teri Atkinson Bakersfield, California of District 22, is the newest candidate to the elected position of president of the Western Conference. She is also chairman of D22's Riverside and Ventura, California Regionals. Teri, currently vice president and former D22 president, is a member of the ACBL Board of Governors representing D22, is First Alternate to the ACBL Board of Directors and is a lifetime member of the league's Goodwill Committee, as well as being a founding member of the D22 Goodwill Committee. During her terms on the District 22 board, Teri has been responsible for presenting terrific education programs at D22 regionals and continues to offer professional programs of teaching seminars.
