Western Conference President

Bonnie Bagley, Colorado Springs, Colorado of District 17, was the 2013-2014 president of the Western Conference. She is serving her second term as the National Board Representative (District Director) from District 17, and holds a league position of President of the ACBL Charity Foundation. In her own district Bonnie has served the D17 board as secretary for the past 16 years. She has chaired I/N Sectionals and the Colorado Springs Pikes Peak Regional. On the national level, Bonnie has co-chaired some of the largest NABCs in the past two decades – the huge Las Vegas Summer National in 2008, and the very successful 2009 San Diego Fall NABC, the Fall Denver NABC, and also chaired the 2014 Summer NABC in Las Vegas. And co-chairman of the 2017 San Diego Fall NABC. On the Western Conference Board Bonnie has taken over responsibilities of overseeing our three annual Great Western STACs – the three largest sectional tournaments in the world. Darwin Afdahl

Darwin Afdahl, Oro Valley, Arizona, of District 17 was elected to the Western Conference Board in 2014. He has served on the District 17 Board since 2010, and was District 17 president for two terms. Prior to moving to Arizona, Darwin was a District 6 (Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland) board member for more than twenty-five years. He served as vice-president of District 6; and two terms as District 6 president. He served two terms as both vice-president and president of the ACBL Mid-Atlantic Conference, a consortium of District 6 and District 7 (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Eastern Tennessee). He also served as both vice-president and president of his local unit. He was a long standing member of the ACBL Board of Governors representing both Districts 6 and 17 and served two terms as vice-chairman. He is a life-member of the Aileen Osofsky ACBL Goodwill Committee, a member of Districts 6 and 17 Goodwill Committees, and served many years on the ACBL National Appeals Committee. Darwin was co-owner of a bridge club, is an ACBL Certified Director, and continues to teach bridge to groups and individuals both at home and at sea while traveling on cruise ships.

District 21

Marion Robertson

Marion Robertson, San Francisco, California of District 21, is the 2016 Western Conference President having also served a two-year presidential term previously. Marion was elected to WC Board in 2009. During her tenure on the board, and as our president, we've made great strides in increased attendance at all conference functions – our regionals and our three annual Great Western STACs. The Western Conference has seen growing attendances everywhere with record-breaking regional and sectional numbers in all three districts, as well as the three annual Great Western STACs. Marion, an attorney in the bay area of California, is also a former president of District 21, and was a chairman of the very successful 2007 San Francisco Fall North American Bridge Championships. Marion is an appointed lifetime member of the Aileen Osofsky ACBL Goodwill Committee.

District 22


Ken Monzingo

Ken Monzingo, San Diego, California, is the National Board Representative (District Director) for District 22, and is presently President of the ACBL. Ken has been the publisher of Contract Bridge Forum for the past thirty-five years. He was responsible for creating the enormous Western Conference STACs – the largest in the world. Nationally, Ken was chairman of the huge Las Vegas Summer 2008 NABC, the largest national tournament in two decades, and also chairman of the very successful Fall 2009 San Diego NABC. A veteran of thirty years of tournament management and site negotiations, he also co-chaired the 2014 Summer NABC in Las Vegas, and is chairman of the 2017 San Diego Fall NABC in San Diego. He also was responsible for, and managed, the first, and most successful, ACBL Regional at Sea. Ken is an appointed lifetime membership in the Aileenn Osofsky ACBL Goodwill Committee, and was selected as ACBL Volunteer of the Year in 2007. As a player he has attained the rank of Platinum Life Master. Ken also taught and directed cruise ship bridge and is a celebrity speaker at all NABCs. Teri Atkinson

Teri Atkinson, Bakersfield, California of District 22, is past president of the Western Conference. She is also chairman of District 22's Riverside and Ventura, California regionals as well as being co-chairman of the league's first, and most successful, Regional at Sea. Teri is currently vice president and a past president of District 22. She is active in every aspect of bridge in her district – teaching, directing and managing. Teri has, for years, handled the districts's I/N speaker programs for D22 as well as her home unit Bakersfield. During her terms on the District 22 board, Teri has been responsible for presenting terrific education programs at regionals, and continues to offer professional teaching seminars. Nationally, Teri is an elected member of the ACBL Board of Governors representing D22, as well as First Alternate to the ACBL Board of Directors. Teri is an appointed lifetime member of the league's Aileen Osofsky ACBL Goodwill Committee, as well as being a founding member of the District 22 Goodwill Committee.
